Why I Started A Blog

This post contains affiliate links which means I may get a small commission if you purchase an item from one of my links at no cost to you.

I have had many reasons for starting my own blog. For one, I am an introverted person. I like to keep to myself and observe people around me.

Starting a blog for me was an easy way to share my thoughts and opinions about things without having to do it in person, which scares me a bit since I am shy.

I am not a public speaker at all so writing on my blog works better for me and my nerves.

Another thing I enjoy about blogging is I am able to have an outlet for my thoughts. It’s kind of like therapy for me to sit and write about whatever I want.

I like to share my experiences with other parents who can use what I learned and apply it to their lives. If I can make life easier for someone else, why not?

This is my way to serve others.

I feel like having three kids, being a nurse, and being 35 years old gives me enough life experience to share with others out there.

Monetization

Making money blogging is definitely a possibility if done right. Starting my blog wasn’t just for money and if you’re sole purpose is to make money, the odds are you won’t do well because people can see through the fluff.

Having a blog is my public diary for all to see. When I publish a post, I am giving you a piece of my mind(not in the mean way). You’ll learn new things about me and my likes and dislikes because of my blog.

This is great for me since I am introverted and don’t like to verbally open up about my thoughts and feelings. Writing is so much easier for me.

I have made money with my blog which I am grateful for and it is a nice plus to keep going.

If you want a more detailed way of how you can make money blogging, take a look here. I have all the things I use to make my blog what it is.

Affiliate Marketing

I am a part of a few affiliate networks. Affiliate marketing is basically a place you go where you can sign up to work with different brands and you get a commission for sales you make.

Affiliate marketing is a big way many bloggers make their income.

I am a part of Amazon affiliates as well as AWIN. These are both good affiliates but I would have to say AWIN pays more so it is worth it in the end.

If you want to sign up for AWIN, you can use my link here.

They do require a $5 fee to sign up which they refund back to you. I’m not sure of the exact reason for this but I would guess they want to make sure you’re serious about your blog.

Amazon does not charge you to sign up. However, you need to make a certain amount of sales within 6 months in order to continue with them.

Having my own blog has been a fun adventure for me. I have been having a lot of fun with it and hope to continue doing this for a really long time.

Do you want to start a blog? Why do you want to start one? Make sure your reasons are genuine and for the right reasons.

If you’re wanting to help others, then blogging is definitely for you.

I would love to hear your reasons for wanting to start a blog below.  Let me know in the comments section.

Happy blogging!
